Probably a 3.5 rather than a 4 but I erred to the slightly more generous side.

So far I've only adjusted it and put it on, not ridden with it so that is what this review is based on. Overall its quite good but a bit of a mixed bag in some respects.

Looks - very attractive helmet in neutral colours to suit any bike or kit.

Size/shape - Right size for head so the measurements can be trusted. I do find that it feels shallower than other helmets I've used before. For my head shape I found it to be a little wider so I used the thicker side pads that were included to get a snug fit. The tightness dial also seems to sit higher up than other helmets so it doesn't feel as though it grabs hold of my head in such a secure manner as I'm used to.

Pads - Came installed with all-in-one pad with insect netting. I found this prevented getting the helmet right down on my head, like it suspended the helmet off my head a little. It also came with individual pads for each section of the helmet so I swapped them over and found that fitted better. Also had a choice of thinner or thicker side pads which was handy as I used the thicker pads for the best sideways fit.

Straps: materials - For the quality of the helmet itself, I was disappointed with the straps. They're the thin, ribbon-like straps that I always find slither around and lose adjustment quite easily compared to the thicker woven-style straps. It also has very basic angles for the ear adjustment with no locking ability. I think they will move quite easily with use and handling and I will probably need to put a stitch or two through them to keep them in place once adjusted.

Straps: placement - I often find helmets have the straps attached too close to the centre of the helmet that allows the helmet to rotate around the chin strap too easily no matter how much I fiddle with them. No so with this one. The front attachment is well forward so when the buckle is fastened, the helmet cannot tip forwards or backwards when pushed. Big plus for this feature.

Final fit - Once adjusted to my preferences, it feels comfortable and snug, so in use I'm confident it will do the job its designed for (as long as the ear angles don't slip).
